some sites such as "sbs on demand", bloomberg etc will tell you to install flash player
however it is no longer available on google play store due to Adobe's protest over the introduction of new HTML5 standard
downloading from Adobe's flash archive page with settings/security/unknown sources enabled
doesn't work on above sites
some solutions:
UC browser HD with Website Preferences set to iPad (default) -- flash player not required
Dolphin Browser with User Agent set to iPad -- flash player not required
Boat Browser with Page Content settings/User Agent set to iPad -- flash player not required
Firefox Browser wanted to do the right thing but at glacial pace
observations
- widespread confusion with android tablets' inheritance of mobile phone software
- problem is not so much flash related, but rather websites not knowing what to do with tablets
ie treat them as mobiles or desktops , while at the same time enforcing copyright protection of their video content
- ridiculous to have to choose iPad setting on Android device
